K – 12 MUSIC (general music/ choral singing)
HIGH SCHOOL DRAMA CLASS
Greetings from Kamiah School District’s Performing Arts Director, Kathryn Chamberlain.
I am writing to cordially invite you to consider enrolling your child (children) in KSD’s Performing Arts Program. The district offers general music to grades K-5, choral singing to grades 6 – 12, and high school drama classes 101 and 102. We are hoping to add a drama class for Middle School students for the coming year. With the exception of Bells, this entire program is offered during school hours.
These classes will teach students the basics of dramatic skills, singing, bells, and rhythm instruments with a goal of Performance and Showmanship. This program will also take advantage of all the choir and drama activities which are offered throughout the State of Idaho, especially competitive events.
Thousands and thousands of music and drama teachers know that the power of choral singing and dramatic arts is TREMENDOUS!!! Through this program, we want to promote self esteem, confidence, encourage a desire for achievement, build skills, and develop communities.
The Performing Arts are important to KSD. We want to continue to build a successful program with ALL students in the area being able to participate.
If your child wants to learn one or all: singing, bells (limit of 26 4th-5th grades), acting (all aspects of theatre), with goals of learning voice, music theory, music reading, composition, acting, pantomime, vocal diction, drama games, a little Shakespeare, and most importantly, PERFORMANCE!, please contact Kathryn Chamberlain … 208-790-5309… OR … Kamiah High School Office 208-935-4067.
Thank you,
Kathryn Chamberlain
