We are experiencing an issue at Kamiah Middle School that is creating a significant interruption to student learning. This morning a strong odor from our sewer is backing up into our building and causing student and staff problems.
After conferring with Board Chairman Simler and each of the three building administrators, we have decided to cancel school for the reminder of the day to allow outside professionals to come in and assess our situation in hopes of resolving the issue.
Buses will run for all students at 10:15 a.m.
If you do not have someone at home to receive your minor child, please call the building immediately and we will coordinate a way to help you until you can find coverage.
I apologize for the inconvenience that I know that this will cause, however, we agree that student safety is paramount.
Again, please notify the building if your son / daughter can not go home due to the absence of a parent.
