State of Idaho Fine-tunes High School & Middle School Event Protocol

January 12 (UPDATED) Covid-19 Protocol update for spectator attendance at High School Athletic Events

Hello parents, players, & fans,

After the Governor signed and released the December 30th high school spectator plan, which was later adopted by the Kamiah Joint School District Board of Directors, the state has recognized a few areas that were overlooked. I have since received a copy of the updated plan for review. The main items that are applicable to Kamiah School District follow:

  • The plan now covers middle school as well as high school athletics.
  • Small schools that are unable to meet the 12-foot physical distancing requirements can now enforce a 6-foot distance while meeting all other requirements.
  • Added documentation on the last page refers to violations.

Kamiah Middle School and Kamiah High School will now implement physical distancing that is 6-foot distance or greater when possible.

Thank you for your patience and flexibility. I also want to thank our coaches, athletic director, and principal for the work they have put forth this year.  Most importantly I want to wish our basketball players, wrestlers and cheerleaders good luck and above all else stay healthy.

Best,

Ben Merrill

When available, a copy of the updated plans will be placed on our district website for your review.
