Dear Kamiah High School parents, staff, and community members:
This evening, the Kamiah Joint School District Board of trustees met to discuss a reopening plan following the two day closure of schools. At this meeting the trustees reviewed contact tracing information and guidance provided by North Central District Health Officials. While contact tracing possible exposure, Kamiah School officials, working with NCDH officials, determined that 20 students at Kamiah High School were identified as being in close contact with a positive student in classrooms that were not socially distancing and/or wearing masks. Those families have been notified of this and asked to monitor the reopening decisions set forth by the Board.

The Kamiah Joint School District Board of Trustees have determined to reopen all three schools on Thursday October 29th with added safety precautions. All students and staff at Kamiah High School will be required to wear a mask that covers their nose and mouth on October 29th, November 2nd, 3rd, 4th, & 5th. Students who are unwilling or unable to wear a mask are asked to contact their building principal for other learning options. This option allows our students and staff to return to school and continue meaningful learning while following protective measures.

All students in grades K-12 will be required to wear masks that cover their nose and mouth while on all district transportation over the next five school days ending on November 5th. Read More
