If you live in Idaho, the local school district is likely to be asking you to vote for the annual levy and Kamiah is no exception. That’s because public schools are only partially funded by the state. State legislators have listened to taxpayers who asked for local control of public schools and downsized your state tax dollars that once were channeled to public schools. Your local (property) tax dollars go into our general fund where our school board approves funding decisions. Your school board members represent your voice. Those monies help to keep buildings safe, curriculum current and competitive with post-secondary and industry standards, and provide a means to ensure a better-prepared workforce for the future of our communities. Please vote on March 12!
